Job Description

We’re seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support the design and coordination of fire protection and plumbing systems for commercial and institutional buildings. This role involves working with multidisciplinary teams to create efficient, code-compliant systems that align with client and project requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong in NFPA standards, and experienced with Revit-based design workflows.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop fire protection and plumbing systems for commercial facilities, ensuring compliance with NFPA and local codes.
  • Create detailed system layouts, hydraulic calculations, and coordination drawings using Revit and other design tools.
  • Review construction documents and specifications to verify accuracy and code adherence.
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and contractors to integrate fire protection systems into overall building design.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and provide technical support throughout construction.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire protection or plumbing system design for commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for system design and documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes, IBC, and related fire safety standards.
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling and fire pump/system sizing.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
