Location: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Client: Qantas Airways

Segment: Sodexo Live! – Airport Lounges

Work Environment: Onsite office within airport lounges

Position Summary

Sodexo Live!’s Airport Lounge Segment is seeking a Human Resources Manager II to support our partnership with Qantas Airways at Los Angeles International Airport. This role provides onsite HR support to Sodexo food and beverage teams operating Qantas business and first-class lounges and serves as a critical liaison between frontline operations and senior HR leadership.

The Human Resources Manager II will report to a Human Resources Business Partner and work closely with on-site leaders while supporting a workforce of approximately 150–200 union and non-union employees. A strong background in labor relations, employee relations, and compliance is highly preferred. Bilingual Spanish proficiency is strongly desired.

What You’ll Do:  

HR Operations & Compliance:

  • Oversee and coordinate airport badging and security clearance processes for new hires.
  • Complete and maintain I-9 documentation, employee files, and required employment records.
  • Run and monitor HR compliance and audit reports.
  • Support payroll troubleshooting and resolve employee pay issues as they arise.
  • Maintain and distribute employee communications and required training materials.

Onboarding & Employee Experience:

  • Facilitate and support new hire orientation, including setup, logistics, and materials.
  • Coordinate onboarding processes to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Share benefits information with new hires and direct employees to appropriate resources.
  • Set up employee direct deposit and assist with initial HR administrative needs.

Labor & Employee Relations:

  • Serve as an HR liaison between operations leadership and senior HR.
  • Support union environments, including collecting union statements and corrective action documentation for senior HR review.
  • Assist with employee relations matters and ensure issues are escalated appropriately.

Recruitment & Employer Branding:

  • Assist with career fairs, hiring events, and recruitment activities.
  • Engage with candidates and represent Sodexo Live! as an employer of choice.
  • Complete special projects and other HR administrative initiatives as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience.
  • Minimum 2 year of human resources experience.
  • Working knowledge of federal labor laws.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in labor relations and unionized environments.
  • Background in hospitality, restaurants, aviation, or travel-related industries.
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
  • Strong employee relations skills and understanding of compliance requirements.
