Family Assistant – Live-Out | Mountain Lakes, NJ

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Compensation: $35–$38 per hour, commensurate with experience
Start Date: Flexible
Benefits- 2 weeks vacation, 6 federal holidays off and paid, 3-5 sick days

A warm and active family of five in Mountain Lakes, NJ is seeking a reliable, organized, and nurturing Family Assistant to support their household and three school-aged children (15-year-old boy, 12-year-old boy, and 12-year-old girl). The family also has a sweet golden doodle who enjoys short walks and attention, along with two low-maintenance cats.

This is a live-out position for someone who enjoys working with children and teens, takes initiative, and thrives in a dynamic home environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive children to and from after-school activities and sports (must have own vehicle and clean driving record)

• Supervise and support children with homework and daily routines

• Perform household errands including grocery shopping and pharmacy runs

• Maintain general tidiness of the home (family has regular cleaning support)

• Laundry for the family (washing, folding, organizing)

• Prep vegetables and ingredients to assist mom with evening meal prep

• Ensure pantry, fridge, and household supplies are well-stocked and organized

• Provide loving care to the family dog, including short daily walks

• Be a warm, consistent, and positive presence in the children’s lives

Qualifications:

• Experience working with school-aged children and teenagers

• Organized, proactive, and a self-starter who can manage a household independently

• Comfortable managing multiple tasks and adapting to the needs of a busy family

• Pet-friendly and comfortable with both dogs and cats

• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with parents
