Job Description and Duties

Under the general supervision of the Crime Analyst Supervisor, the incumbent will perform technical and analytical duties in the Statewide Evidence and Resource Management Unit, Division of Law Enforcement. Duties include receiving, reviewing, identifying, analyzing, and processing evidence and property information utilizing various law enforcement database systems.

Please note that this classification contains multiple salary ranges. New-to-State employees will be given the minimum salary of Range A unless you meet Alternate Range Criteria 494. For current state employees and/or those with reinstatement rights, your salary will be determined in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. 

Range A. This range shall apply to those individuals who do not meet the criteria for Range B.

Range B. This range shall apply to persons who have satisfactorily completed the equivalent of 12 months of Crime Analyst I, Range A; who have graduated from a recognized four-year accredited college or university; or who have one year of work experience obtaining, analyzing, and/or disseminating criminal justice information.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and demonstrate attention to detail. Proven ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality, initiative, responsibility, and independence. Ability to analyze issues and develop solutions. Work well under pressure and meet deadlines; possess integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to work both independently and as a team member; carry out prescribed tasks with minimal supervision; be a self-starter, flexible, and have a positive attitude. Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
