Under the culinary guidance of acclaimed Chef Charlie Palmer and Appellation’s Chief Culinary Director Thomas Bellec, we celebrate Lodi’s agricultural bounty with thoughtfully crafted menus, artisan breads, rotisserie-roasted dishes, and local wines – all served in a space that’s as welcoming as it is beautiful.
The Cafe Barista / Cashier prepares and serves deli food items, hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea. The responsibilities include educating customers on our drink and food menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, upselling special items, taking, and making the orders. This is a part time position that requires flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
Job Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
Take food and beverage orders
Prepare and serve food and/or beverage orders to recipes, in a timely and efficient customer friendly fashion while maintaining Towne Corner Café & Market standards and protocols
Operate a cash register and receive payment from guests accurately, knowing how to accurately count back change and follows all cash handling policies and procedures
Greet all guests with professionalism while maintaining the company’s high standard for excellence in hospitality
Maintains a calm professional demeanor during peak periods of high volume
Address any guest concerns promptly and professionally
Anticipate guests’ needs
Set up and closing responsibilities, to include restocking guest areas and product displays
Monitor and communicate replenishment needs to kitchen and/or manager / supervisor
Knowledgeable about all products so you may provide our customers with information about them and look for an opportunity to upsell those products
Follows company operational policies and procedures including those for safety and security to ensure the safety of all guests and co-workers during each shift
Thank guests for coming and encourage their return
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $16.50 hourly rate plus gratuity averaging $22.00 to $27.00 per hour

At least 1 year Barista experience
Customer service skills
Knowledge of how brewing equipment operates
Adapts well to change
Is effective at working multiple priorities and tasks, working under stress, time management and exercise good judgment with guest and employee situations and challenges
Must have flexibility in performing different job roles within the department
Good interpersonal skills and perform simple problem solving
Work varying schedules to reflect the business needs including weekends, and holidays
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Constant: walking, standing and repetitive use of hands, arms and legs
Frequent: grasping and bending of the neck, taste and smell. twisting of neck & waist, power grasping, fine manipulation, reaching above, below and at shoulder level, use hands and finger to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls based on business
Occasional: pushing and pulling and exposure to extremes in temperature, humidity and wetness.
